LARPing Gone Wild - Part 1
LARPers just wanna have fun ... (( A slow burn type love story ... ))
“Are you really wearing that?” I heard being asked from across the room.
I turned around and saw Todd, my roommate, “Maybe.”
“Okay, but you look utterly ridiculous; you’re not going to pick anyone up before Valentine's Day dressed like that.”
“You never know,” I fixed my dress one last time before shutting my closet, hiding the full-length mirror I used. “The place I am going, everyone is like me; I promise, all will be fine.”
“Good luck, but I’m telling you, Niki, you’re working an uphill battle.”
I walked across my room, kissed Todd on the cheek and hugged him, “Love you, don’t wait up.”
“Trust me, I won’t; I have plans with Beau tonight.”

“Thank you,” I tried hard not to sound disappointed. I had been practicing my sword fighting against myself in the mirror all weekend. I walked over to the throne where the king sat, talking to his subjects. When it was my turn, I spoke as confidently as I could.
“Your majesty, I’m Niki, damsel number two.” I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow or curtsey, so I just went with it. I crossed my ankles and bent my knees, lowering my head and respectfully gesturing to the king.
“Yes, yes, come to the tower with you.”
He waived for his guards, who escorted me across the grass to the designated tower. One of the guards held my arm a bit too tight, “Owe,” I said.
